Alternative Seating Opinion Writing Projects
During our opinion unit in writing, students had the opportunity to research alternative seating choices. We focused our research on four different options: wobble stools, bean bag chairs, stability balls, and standing desks.
To start our project, we first spent some time researching the different options. Students were assigned a seating choice and a group. These groups worked hard to gather information to share with the rest of the class!
After learning about all four seating options through in-class presentations, students independently chose the seat that would most benefit them. With the goal of getting some of these options in our classroom, students began writing persuasive essays.
To conclude our unit, we decided to share our opinions with an important audience: Mrs. Sontag, Mr. Laastch, and Mrs. Kellstrom, and our teachers. Students created their final presentations in small groups of people with similar opinions and presented them to their captive audience!
We hope that you enjoy our projects, all of which can be found below! (You can also find photos of some of our presentations at the bottom of this page!)
